Gen 34: Chapter 21

Book of Genesis #34 The birth of Isaac is the cause of the first disunity in Abraham's family. Because Isaac is born, Abraham sends away, that is, he separates himself from the son he loved: Ishmael. This separation has continued down the generations and is the cause of the endless strife and killing between the sons of Isaac today and those of Ishmael. Who would ever have thought that such a seemingly insignificant event as a divorce within a family would yield such bitter fruits down the ages and affect so many people? What about your own life? Your own strife? Where will they go down the centuries? Who will suffer because of them? God only knows.
